Lane County Housing Market July 2015

July was strong for closings this year. It was the strongest July for closings (542) in Lane County on RMLS record, and the best month for closings since August 2005. Pending sales (524) were also strong, compared to July of 2014, with only 375 accepted offers, however fell short of last months 557 pending sales. New listings (647) beat last July's 646 new listings by just one and fell 4.9% short of the 680 new listings posted in June.

Activity was up during the first 7 months of this year compared to the same period of 2014. Pending sales were up 31.4%, closed sales 30.0%, and new listings up 10.1%. Total market time increased just slightly, at 2.7 months compared to 2.6 last month.

Comparing 2015 to 2014 through July of each year, the average sale price (+3.5%) and median sale price (+4.3%) continue to rise. When compared with last month, however, average sale prices ped 1.1% and median sale prices ped 0.1%.
