Lane County Market Action March 2017

March brought a nice increase of activity for Lane County, although numbers are a bit cooler than they were this time last year. The 355 Closed sales in March ended 43.7% higher than the 247 in February 2017, yet fell 3.3% below last year in March. New listings (537) also ended similarly, at 3.8% under the 558 new listings offered in March 2016, but 36.6% above last month's numbers. Pending sales (478) also had an increase from last month's 369 by 29.5%, while falling 7.7% under the 518 offers accepted in March 2016. 

Inventory fell to 1.7 months and total market time ended with an average of 69 days. 

The average price of homes, comparing the averages of the past 12 months ending March 31st 2017 ($268,100) to the 12 months ending March 2016 ($244,600), shows an increase of 9.6%. The same comparison of the median shows an increase of 7.9% over that same period.
